BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's soccer team honored seven student-athletes during a pre-match ceremony on Sunday.
The Sharks then suffered a 1-0 defeat against Saint Francis U at rainy LIU Soccer Park.
Since enjoying an eight-match winning streak, the Sharks have hit a bit of a skid — tying Stonehill, then dropping three straight matches during which they have been shut out.
LIU currently sits at 9-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the NEC entering its final match of the regular season, Nov. 3 at St. Francis Brooklyn.
The top six teams qualify for the conference tournament.
The lone goal in Sunday's match came from Quinn O'Hearn in the 70th minute.
