MANCHESTER, N.H. — Less than 24 hours later, the LIU women's ice hockey team struck back.
The Sharks earned a split of a two-game NEWHA series with host Saint Anselm with a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Arena.
Ashley Morrow opened the scoring in the first period — her first goal of the season.
Paige Vreeman then solidified the lead when she redirected
Paula Bergström's shot from the point past goaltender Allie Kelley midway through the third period.
Goaltender
Tindra Holm made 29 saves en route to her second shutout in the past three games.
Holm had blanked Maine in a 1-0 nonconference win last Saturday.
LIU dropped Friday's game to Saint Anselm, 3-2.
The Sharks now sit at 3-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
They return to action next weekend with home-and-home games against Post.
