ORONO, Maine — The LIU women's hockey team earned a statement win on Saturday.
Maggie Culp scored an unassisted goal in the third period and
Tindra Holm produced a 32-save shutout as the Sharks defeated host Maine, 1-0.
Culp, a junior forward from Oswego, Ill., produced her first goal of the young season.
Holm notched her sixth career shutout and first of the 2022-23 season.
The Sharks (2-5) split the consecutive games with Maine.
LIU returns to action next weekend with a pair of NEWHA games at Saint Anselm.
"It was great to see how quickly our team made adjustments from yesterday's game into today's game," coach
Kelly Nash said. "It's still early in the season, but seeing how they came back ready for today's game was just another telling factor of the potential we have with this team this season."
