BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU football team welcomed alumni back to campus on Saturday, including having Jeremiah Pope, Peter Lazare and Jon Isopo from the 2002 championship team, along with fellow alums Bob Jahelka and Vin Salamone, serve as honorary captains.
Unfortunately, the Sharks then fell to Saint Francis U, 57-7, on homecoming at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Tight end
Owen Glascoe scored the lone touchdown for LIU, rushing one yard into the end zone on a direct snap.
Derek Green and true freshmen
Luca Stanzani and
Maurice Smith all saw action at quarterback for the Sharks. Punter
Will Lynch also threw a pass on a fourth-down fake.
The Sharks (0-6, 0-2 NEC) next travel to Wagner for a Friday game at 7 p.m., which will be streamed on ESPN3.
