BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU men's ice hockey defeated Saint Anselm 7-0 on Saturday afternoon, earning its second win in as many days. Sophomore Zach Nazzarett led the Sharks with two goals, and five other Sharks entered the scoring column.
 
SHARK BITES

• The Sharks used a four-goal first period to take an early advantage over the Hawks.
• Graduate student Jake Stevens scored the first goal six minutes into the contest.
• LIU went on to score three more goals in a span of 11 minutes. 
• Billy Jerry scored three minutes later to make it 2-0, followed by Daine DuBois, who scored his second goal of the season to push the lead to 3-0. 
• Senior Derek Osik added a goal towards the end of the frame to extend the edge to 4-0.
• The Sharks scored two more goals in the second period. Nolan McElhaney scored one minute into the frame, his first goal of the year. And Nazzarett then added the sixth goal of the match to make it 6-0. 
• Jordan Di Cicco and Jake Franczak led the Sharks with two assists apiece, while Nolan McElhaney, Carson Musser, Jordan Timmons, Zack Bross, Max Balinson, Marty Westhaver, Nolan Welsh, Tyler Welsh, and PJ Marrocco all had apples, as well.
• Graduate student goalie Kris Carlson put together a shutout win, while saving 27 shots.
• Up next, LIU will travel to Brown University on January 30 to take on the Bears at 4:00 p.m.
