MANCHESTER, N.H. – The LIU women's ice hockey team battled NEWHA foe Saint Anselm to a 1-1 tie on the road Friday night. With the tie, the Sharks move to 12-9-2 overall, and 10-0-1 in league action.
 
SHARK BITES

• The Hawks move to 6-10-2 overall, and 3-4-2 in the NEWHA.
• Saint Anselm's got on the board first, scoring a goal in the second period to go up 1-0 on LIU.
• The Sharks would knot it up just three minutes later, when freshman Jeannie Wallner scored with help from junior Carrigan Umpherville, tying it up, 1-1.
• LIU out-shot Saint A's 39-19, including 12 shots in the third period, but couldn't get much past Hawks keeper Allie Kelly, who made 38 saves.
• Junior Alva Johnsson made three blocks on defense, while Maggie Korneta added two.
• Ceilidh Campbell made 18 saves in net for the Sharks.
• Up next, the two teams face off again Saturday, January 15. Puck drop is at 3 p.m.
