STORRS, Conn. – The LIU women's hockey team opened the 2021-22 season on the road Friday evening, traveling north to take on the University of Connecticut. The Sharks fell to the Huskies, 3-1.
UConn got on the board in the first period, scoring on a power play. They added a second goal in the second period, before LIU would get on the board. The Sharks scored early in the third period, when junior
Megan Bouveur scored an unassisted goal at 3:39, cutting UConn's lead to 2-1. But six minutes later, the Huskies would scorer an even strength goal to widen the lead to 3-1, and seal the win.

Kenzie Harmison was outstanding in net, making 41 saves to keep LIU in the game.
The two teams will meet against, Saturday, September 25 at 3 p.m.
