RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The LIU men's soccer team had their most prolific offensive effort Tuesday on the road, as the Sharks beat Manhattan 4-0, extending their unbeaten streak to four straight games. The Sharks move to 4-2-2 on the season with the win.
SHARK BITES
- LIU scored early and often Tuesday, and finished the game out-shooting the Jaspers 15-8.
- The first goal of the game came 13 and a half minutes in, when Andre Puente scored his second goal of the season on a corner kick. Robert Winkler took the corner, and Fridtjof Andberg redirected with his head to Puente, who volleyed the ball into the lower left corner.
- Goal two came in the 37th minute. After Florian Skulimowski shot it and it was saved, Papa Sow was there to bury the rebound, and put the Sharks up, 2-0 at the half.
- In the second half, sophomore Emil Jaaskelainen scored his third goal of the season off an assist from Assane Ben Fall.
- And freshman Michael-Andre Odusami scored his first collegiate goal in the 86th minute, when he took on the Manhattan goalie one-on-one to score, and give LIU the 4-0 advantage.
