BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU women's soccer team opened up Northeast Conference play at home Sunday afternoon, hosting St. Francis Brooklyn. Despite taking the early lead, the Sharks ended up battling the Terriers to a 1-1 double overtime tie.
The Sharks got on the board 19 minutes into the game, when
Tatiana Lizarraga scored her first goal of the season, 1-0.
St. Francis Brooklyn would score a goal in the 75th minute to tie it up, and despite two overtime periods, neither team would score again, and the game ended in a tie.

Lydia Fraga Cordoba made nine saves to keep the Sharks in the game. The Terriers out-shot LIU, 22-10.
