BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU baseball team dropped a Saturday afternoon contest to the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State, 10-1. With the loss, the Sharks move to 10-8 on the season, and 8-6 in the NEC.
Th Blue Devils jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, scoring on three hits and two errors. The visitors added two more runs in the second, scoring on an RBI single and an error. The Blue Devils would add another run in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the seventh to take a 10-0 lead.
The Sharks got on the board in the bottom of the eighth.
Dawson Degnan had an RBI single that scored a run.
CCSU's starter held the Sharks to just one run on eight hits, pitching eight innings.

Michael Andreoli pitched the final 2.0 innings, holding CCSU scoreless, giving up just one, and a combined four strikeouts.
The two teams resume the series Sunday, April 18 with a nine-inning contest slated to begin at 1 p.m.
