HACKENSACK, N.J. - The LIU volleyball team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson on the road Tuesday night, 3-0. The Sharks fell 25-13, 25-11, 25-20, in the first FDU win over LIU since 2001. With the loss, LIU moves to 5-4 overall.
LIU hit negatively as a team in both the first and second sets, and didn't register double digit kills until the the third set. FDU, meanwhile, hit well, over .300 in both of the first sets, and finished the day hitting .277.
Karolina Nova led LIU with seven kills and five digs, while
Jovana Stekovic had eight digs and six kills. Freshman
Allie Merz led LIU with 11 assists, while Anastasia Scoott had 14 digs, and
Kristina Mamic had a team high three blocks at the net.
