WEST POINT, N.Y. – The LIU men's hockey team faced off against Army Friday, falling to the Black Knights, 5-0.
Army, who's receiving votes in the national polls, scored late in the first quarter to get on the board. A power play in the second period made it 2-0 Knights, but it wasn't until the third period that the home team put the game out of reach. Another power play early in the third made it 3-0 for Army, and in three minutes later, the Black Knights would score two quick even strength goals to make it 5-0.
The Sharks would keep fighting, getting lots of chances late, but Army's defense blocked several late shots to help goalie Trevin Kozlowski maintain the shutout win.

Tanner Schachle led LIU with four shots on goal. Senior
Zack Bross had five blocked shots to lead the team defensively, while
Max Balinson had four and
Mitchell Meek had three. Senior
Garrett Metcalf had 38 saves in net for the Sharks.
