MANCHESTER, N.H. – The LIU men's ice hockey team beat Saint Anselm on the road Tuesday night, shutting out the Hawks, 4-0. With the win, LIU moves to 3-7-3 on the season. Keeper Vincent Purpura made 17 saves in the shutout victory, his first of the season.  
 
SHARK BITES

• Sophomore Nolan Welsh led the Sharks, lighting the lamp twice in the win.
• Freshman Spencer Cox scored first for LIU, off a feed from John Gormley and Jack Quinn.
• Welsh's first goal came at the start of the second period, off a pass from his brother Tyler Welsh, putting LIU up, 2-0.
• Billy Jerry added a goal eight minutes later, with help from Cox and Quinn.
• And in the third, Nolan Welsh struck again, again with the help of his brother, along with Zach Nazzarett on the assist to make it 4-0.
• Zack Bross went 11-3 in the faceoff circle to lead the Sharks.
• Up next, LIU heads to the Buckeye State to take on Miami, Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27.
