EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The LIU women's ice hockey team maintained their unbeaten streak in NEWHA action Friday, beating Saint Anselm, 5-1. With the victory, LIU stays a perfect 7-0 in league play, and 7-6-0 overall.

• Freshman Jeannie Wallner led the Sharks with a goal and two assists.
• Freshman goalie Tindra Holm made 20 saves for the Sharks.
• LIU got on the board first, scoring quickly in the first period. Maggie Culp broke away from the pack and scored in a one on two to put LIU on the board. Megan Roe and Alva Johnsson earned assists on the tally.
• The Hawks evened it up just under a minute later, 1-1.
• Neither team scored again until the second, when LIU broke the game open.
• Junior Megan Bouveur scored a power play goal to make it 2-1.
• Wallner and Matilda af Bjur would score towards the end of the period in quick succession, and the Sharks were up 4-1.
• Megan Roe added an insurance goal in the third period to give LIU the 5-1 advantage, and eventually, win.
• Up next, the Sharks and the Hawks rematch at Northwell Health Ice Center, Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m.
