TROY, N.Y. – The LIU men's ice hockey team fell to RPI on the road Friday, 7-2. With the loss, the Sharks move to 2-7-2 on the season, while RPI improves to 6-5-1. The two teams face off in a rematch back on Long Island Saturday at 8 p.m.
 
SHARK BITES

• The home team scored twice in the first period before LIU got on the board. Freshman Isaiah Fox scored with assists credited to Jordan Di Cicco and Billy Jerry, cutting the lead to 2-1.
• But the Engineers used a four-goal second period to drive a wedge. RPI scored three power play goals and one even strength to lead 6-1 heading into the third.
• LIU was able to score again in the third, as Spencer Cox scored a goal, assisted by Tyler Welsh, cutting the gap to 6-2.
• RPI added one more with just over four minutes left to play, to take the win by a final score of 7-2.
• Kris Carlson made 19 saves in net. Vinnie Purpura made six saves in net in the third period for the Sharks.
• Up next, RPI comes to Northwell Health Ice Center to rematch with the Sharks, Saturday, November 20 at 8 p.m.
