BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU football team hosted Merrimack for homecoming, Saturday, October 16, falling to the Warriors 43-5. With the loss, LIU moves to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in Northeast Conference play.
 
SHARK BITES

• After the Warriors jumped out to a 13-0 lead, LIU got on the board in the second quarter. The Sharks' special teams blocked a kick attempt, and Tariq Snead recovered the ball and ran 98 yards for the safety.
• Junior kicker Paul Inzerillo had a 23 yard field goal to close out the second quarter, cutting the lead to 21-5.
• Quarterback Camden Orth was 7-for-18 on the day, and was sacked five times.
• Jonathan DeBique led the rushing game, with 67 net yards on 12 attempts.
• Snead also had an interception in the game.
• Defensively, Larry Elder and Jerome Brooks III led the team with 11 tackles for Elder and eight for Brooks.
• Joe Amalfitano, Caleb Caslow and Thomas Bolesta all had sacks for the Sharks.
• Up next, LIU travels north to take on CCSU, Saturday, October 23.
