BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Long Island University wrestling team continued its 2020-21 season with an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association dual at Lehigh University on Sunday, Jan. 31 inside the Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. The host Mountain Hawks earned a 46-0 victory to move to 2-2 in dual matches on the season, while LIU dips to 1-3. 

Redshirt-junior Ryan Ferro battled Thayne Lawrence in the day's opener, dropping a narrow 3-1 decision at 165 pounds. Lehigh pulled away over the next four bouts, earning 22 points behind three pins and a major decision to take a 25-0 advantage at the midway point of the match. 

Freshmen Devin Matthews and Drew Witham battled hard at 133 and 141, respectively, but ultimately came up short by decision. 

Sophomore Adam Barker and freshman Joe Lopresti also saw action during two extra bouts at 157 and 184. 

The Sharks will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 6 when they host Drexel University in an EIWA dual beginning at 12:00 p.m.
