Jackson Svete struck out 10 hitters for the second time in his career but the Long Island University baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to Nicholls State University 4-3 on Friday night.

How it Happened
The Sharks jumped out in front in the first inning. Warneke reached on a fielder's choice, stole second, then reached third on a passed ball. Camilo brought him home with a sacrifice fly. The Colonels evened the score in the bottom half of the inning. Svete fanned four batters across the second and third innings.

Camilo initiated the go-ahead run in the fourth inning, singling with one out. He advanced to second on a wild pitch. Bechtold knocked a single to the left side deep enough for Camilo to score from second. Svete was relieved in the seventh by
Patrick Clyne. The lefty set down the Colonels in order.

Warneke started the eighth with a walk.
Cooper Shearon bumped him to second on fielder's choice. Camilo bunted the runners over into scoring position.
Carlton Harper grounded out, scoring Warneke. Despite not registering a hit in the bottom of the ninth inning, Nicholls State fought back with three runs, winning on a walk-off hit-by-pitch.
