BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Long Island University wrestling team opened the 2020 calendar year with a non-conference dual match at Bloomsburg University on Friday, Jan. 3, falling to the Huskies inside the Nelson Field House.
LIU drops to 2-14 in dual matches this year, while Bloomsburg picked up its first win and improved to 1-3 on the season.

Jimmy Ryan suffered a narrow defeat at 125 (7-5), the Sharks fell behind by a 9-0 margin with a forfeit at 133. Bloomsburg extended its lead with victories during the next four bouts before sophomore
James Langan earned a sudden victory over Anthony Vetrano with a takedown 31 seconds into the first overtime period.
The Huskies earned wins during the final three weight classes, earning the 40-3 final.
The Blue and Gold will continue its weekend in Pennsylvania at the David H. Lehman Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
