Notes on the Sharks
The Sharks are looking to carry the momentum from Sunday afternoon's exciting 3-2 come-from-behind win over Towson into this weekend. The Northeast Conference Offensive Player and Rookie of the week,
Kaitlyn Olton, led the Sharks with her first career hat trick to help propel LIU to victory. Her first goal came 33 seconds into the third quarter, tapping in a pass from
Felicia King. Midway through the third, Olton tied the game, burying a shot past the goalkeeper from
Sammy Bell. She scored the go-ahead and eventual game winning goal off a waist-high pass from
Taylor Brodsky. Olton leads the team with four goals and eight points this season. Bell and Brodsky both have a team-high two assists.
Â
Rachel Vellis had two saves in net en route to her first victory of the season. She and the defense faced four penalty corners in the final minute of the play, but would not let the Tigers convert on any of those corners, securing the victory. Vellis has 29 saves and a 0.690 save percentage this season. Â
