PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In its inaugural Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association dual, the Long Island University wrestling team fell to Drexel University by a 42-3 final at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday, Dec. 14.
 
The Dragons, led by two nationally-ranked grapplers, proved to be too much for LIU on Saturday. In eight contested bouts, Drexel earned seven victories and also added 12 points via forfeits at 125 and 133.
 
LIU earned three points when senior Dan McClure posted a 6-3 decision over Anthony Walters at 184, improving his personal dual record to 4-9 this season.
 
Drexel's day was highlighted by consecutive pins at 165 and 174 as No. 17 Ebad Jarrell and No. 33 Michael O'Malley gave the host Dragons 12 points to help put the dual out of reach for good.
 
The Sharks will continue EIWA action on Friday, Dec. 20 in the 2019-20 home-opener inside the Pratt Recreation Center when the Blue and Gold host Bucknell University beginning at 7:00 p.m.
