EDINBORO, Pa. – The Long Island University wrestling team continued its opening stretch of dual matches at the 'Boro Duals on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Sharks grappled with another trio of tough opponents, taking on Gannon University, Ohio University, and the host Fighting Scots of Edinboro University.
LIU fell in each of its three duals on the day, coming up short by 46-0, 46-0, and 51-0 finals against Gannon, Ohio, and Edinboro, respectively.
In the opening dual, sophomore
Tim Nagosky took Gehrig Hutchinson to overtime, but Hutchinson earned the first point in the extra frame to earn a 3-2 victory. Freshman
Michael Blando was impressive against Ohio, battling 17th-ranked Mario Guillen to a 7-4 decision. Senior
Dominick Demarco surrendered just two points in a decision against Kade Kowalski and Nagosky suffered a 3-1 decision against Bobcat heavyweight Jordan Earnest.
The Blue and Gold take a hiatus from dual action next weekend when it competes at the New York State Intercollegiate Tournament and Cornell Open on Sunday, Nov. 24.
