NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Molly Meyers and
Megan Bouveur scored their first career goals as the Long Island University women's ice hockey team drop the first game against Yale, 9-2 on Friday evening.
The Sharks had 10 shots during the game. Bouveur and
Linn Thomsen had two shots.
Matilda af Bjur,
Lauren Spino,
Grace Dima,
Julia Hoffmann,
Erin Hinch, and Meyers each finished with one shot.
Paula Bergström had an assist on Bouver's goal for her first career assist.
Ava Bailey made the start in net. She had 19 saves on the day.
Kenzie Harmison came into the game early in the second period. She finished with a career high 28 saves and only had three goals allowed for a .903 save percentage.
As a team, the Sharks won 20 faceoffs. Bouveur won a team-high 11, while Meyers and
Alva Johnsson won three af Bjur won two and
Stella Scott won one.
The Sharks close out the weekend series at Yale tomorrow, October 26. Game time at Ingalls Rink is at 3:00 p.m.
