NEW BRITIAN, Conn.- The Long Island University women's soccer team dropped a Northeast Conference matchup against Central Connecticut State, falling 3-0 to the Blue Devils on Friday evening.

Kayla DeTreux made seven saves in net for the Sharks. Sophomore forward Kendra Olryod finished with a team-high three shots, two of them on target. Senior forward

Maria Orozco each finished with a shot.
The Blue Devils did not waste much time, with a shot in the first minute that was saved by DeTreux. Lizarraga took a header shot early, but it missed wide. Central scored in the fourth minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The Blue Devils would extend their lead to two in the 26
th minute. Central had a few more shots that missed wide, and one shot that DeTreux saved in the remainder of the first half. Ono took a shot for the Sharks, but hers missed wide.
Early in the second half, Oldryod took her first shot of the day, but it was saved by the goalkeeper. Duffy had an opportunity at net but her header was also saved by the goalkeeper. The Sharks had another scoring opportunity a minute later when Oldryod took a shot on net, but the Blue Devils' goalkeeper stood strong with another save.
DeTreux would make three saves in a row, but the Blue Devils would break through one more time, taking a 3-0 lead in the 76
th minute.
The Sharks continue NEC play on Sunday, October 20 when they head to Staten Island to take on Wagner College. Game time against the Seahawks is set for 1:00 p.m.
