Rob Bouchey joined LIU in 2019 as a strength and conditioning coach.
He primarily works with the baseball, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s rugby, and men’s and women’s golf teams.
Those teams have enjoyed tremendous success during his tenure, including NEC titles and NCAA tourney appearances for men’s soccer and baseball and a conference title for men’s golf as well.
Bouchey arrived from American International College, where he served as coordinator of sports performance from 2017 through 2019. Bouchey also served as internship director for the graduate strength and conditioning program at AIC.
He graduated from Springfield (Mass.) College in 2018 with a master’s of science in exercise science and a concentration in strength and conditioning. While there, he completed an internship with the University of Connecticut sports performance staff.
He held the position of an adjunct faculty member at Springfield College from 2017 through ’19, teaching a graduate-level strength and conditioning course.
Bouchey also interned at Duke University during the summer of 2016, working with the sports performance staff.
Bouchey completed his undergraduate degree at Keene (N.H.) State College, earning a bachelor of science degree in athletic training in 2013.
Bouchey is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting and the National Athletic Trainers Association.
