Sean McClain joined the LIU fencing staff during the 2022-23 academic year. He will coach foil.

McClain served as an assistant at Yale in 2021.
 
An individual NCAA national champion and a four-time Junior Olympic champion, McClain brings a wealth of experience to LIU.
 
He is one of only three U.S. fencers to win a national championship in foil and epee while at Stanford. McClain also served as a 1996 Olympic team alternate.
