Lou Scala, a former standout defensive lineman and captain for LIU, returned for his sixth season as a defensive assistant with the Sharks' coaching staff in 2019.
Recognized to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society following his senior year, Scala capped off a standout career that saw him earn All-PSAC East and ECAC All-Star accolades.
He also garnered CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District first-team recognition for his excellent work in the classroom.
Scala earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from LIU Post in 2012 and currently resides in Coram, N.Y.
