BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Sara van Gisteren continues to thrive for LIU women's volleyball, winning her third consecutive NEC Player of the Week honor, the conference announced Tuesday.
 
The senior was a standout in LIU's 3-0 win over Saint Peter's last Wednesday, leading the way with 20 kills while also tallying 6 digs and a team-high 5 blocks.
 
van Gisteren's 20 kills not only tied the second-most kills she's had in a match, but also marked the third time in four matches she's had twenty kills or more. The Sharks are now winners of four straight.
 
LIU returns to play Friday, Oct. 2, hosting Le Moyne at 6 p.m.
