BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Rafael Fasolino and Will Johnson have earned weekly awards from the NEC, the conference announced Monday.
 
Fasolino earned Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors following his continued prowess leading the LIU defense. Fasolino led the Sharks with 10 tackles (7 solo, 3 assisted) against Villanova on Sept. 19. This tied a season-high in tackles for Fasolino, and marked the third time in four weeks he has had led the Sharks in that category.
 
Johnson also received recognition in the form of a Special Teams Player of the Week honor. He is the second consecutive Shark to win the award, following Callum Brent last week. Against Villanova, Johnson had three field goals (the longest being 34 yards), two of which gave LIU leads throughout the game. He also had an average of 44.8 yards per kickoff.
 
The Sharks return to the field Saturday, Sept. 26, visiting FIU at 6 p.m.
