BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Kadidia Toure of the Long Island University women's basketball team was named the Influxer/NEC Player of the Week after helping guide the Sharks to a win over the University of New Haven last week, the conference announced on Monday.

This is the third NEC Player of the Week award for Toure, who received the same award on Nov. 10 and Jan. 12.

Toure netted 26 points on 10-16 shooting in LIU's overtime win over the Chargers on Saturday, tied for the third-most points in a game in her career, and posted a career-high in rebounds with 18. The Silver Spring, Maryland native also finished the game with six assists (second-most in career) and a career-high five blocks.

In the win over the Chargers, Toure posted her third consecutive double-double, giving her an NEC-leading 10 double-doubles this winter; the 25th-most in Division I. Toure also recorded her second consecutive game with 20-plus points and 15-plus rebounds, having posted 21 points and 17 rebounds at Stonehill College on Feb. 7.

Joining Toure in receiving NEC honors were juniors Solangelei Akridge and Janessa Williams. Akridge recorded 17 points with a season-high five rebounds, four assists, and a career-high two blocks against the Chargers, while Williams totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds against New Haven, her third double-double of the season.

LIU returns to the court on Thursday, Feb. 7, when the Sharks host Saint Francis University at 7 p.m.
