BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sharks continued to roll, winning their sixth consecutive match in a 3-0 victory over Le Moyne Saturday.
Jumping out to a 2-0 record in NEC play following the win, LIU was led by Sara van Gisteren, who has earned NEC Player of the Week a remarkable three consecutive weeks running now. The senior had a team-high 11 kills, followed by Bella Correia with ten kills.
Dilara Elmacioglu, who earned an NEC Prime Performer nod last week, led the Sharks with 34 assists. Sara Garcia, who was also honored by the conference with Prime Performer recognition, added nine kills of her own – just two off her season-high mark of 11, previously set in the win over Duke on Sept. 19.
LIU returns to competition on Friday, Oct. 9, visiting Chicago State at 7 p.m.
