Erie, Pa. – LIU men's soccer defeated Mercyhurst in a 2-0 shutout on Thursday afternoon.
Earning their first clean sheet of the campaign, the Sharks were led by
Nic Robinson, who scored his team-leading third goal of the season off an assist from
Mika Leue at the 40:42 mark to help LIU take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Good karma struck following Leue's earlier unselfish play in the first half as he himself went on to score his team-leading third goal of the season at 88:30 to help the Sharks put the finishing touches on the win. Leue now shares the team lead in goals with three, and has a team-high two assists on the year as well.
LIU returns to the field Oct. 8, hosting CCSU at 1 p.m.
