BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - The NEC released its conference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 women's basketball season on Tuesday, including the Long Island University women's basketball team opening conference play on Jan. 2.
LIU will begin its conference schedule with a road matchup against Central Connecticut State University on Jan. 2, followed by its NEC home opener against Chicago State University on Jan. 4. The Sharks will then begin a two-game road trip against Mercyhurst University on Jan. 8 and Saint Francis University on Jan. 10.
Upon returning to Brooklyn, the Sharks will host a four-game home stand featuring matchups against Le Moyne College on Jan. 15, Fairleigh Dickinson University on Jan. 17, Stonehill College on Jan. 22, and Wagner College on Jan. 24. LIU then travels to Le Moyne on Jan. 29 before returning to the Steinberg Wellness Center to face CCSU on Jan. 31.
Following road tilts against the University of New Haven (Feb. 5) and Stonehill (Feb. 7), the Sharks will begin another home stand with three games against New Haven (Feb. 14), Saint Francis (Feb. 19), and Mercyhurst (Feb. 21), the latter of the three being the regular season home finale.
LIU closes its 2025-26 NEC schedule with three road matchups against Chicago State on Feb. 26, FDU on Feb. 28 and Wagner on March 5.
Information on season tickets and LIU's non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.
The Sharks enter the 2025-26 season under first-year head coach Neil Harrow, who comes to Brooklyn after three seasons serving as the Associate Head Coach at James Madison University. During his time with JMU, Harrow helped guide the Dukes to three Sun Belt Conference championships and one NCAA Tournament appearance.
