The LIU women's soccer team opened up their 2025 season with a 1-1 against Manhattan.

Beginning the campaign on the road, the Sharks showed great perseverance. Despite falling behind early 1-0, LIU bounced back quickly thanks to a goal by Grace Hennig.

Hennig, who earned NEC Second Team All-Conference honors in 2024, tied things up at one apiece at the forty-two minute mark. She and LIU kept pace with Manhattan the rest of the way to earn the tie.

The Sharks will return to the field on Sunday, Aug. 24, hosting Saint Peter's at 12 p.m.
