GRAUBUNDEN, SWITZERLAND -
Bri Eid of the Long Island University women's hockey team has signed a contract to play professionally for HC Davos of the Swiss Women's Hockey League (SWHL), the team announced. Eid, who graduated from LIU this past spring semester after four years in the program, becomes the fourth player to sign a professional contract in the program's six-year history.
"Having Bri move on to play professionally is a testament to her work ethic and competitive drive," said head coach
Kelly Nash. "Her skillset and creativity as a player are some of the qualities that made her a standout player for us at LIU and will continue to serve her well at the professional level. We're beyond excited to cheer her on in her next hockey endeavor with HC Davos!"
In four years, Eid made 135 total appearances, scoring 12 goals and compiling 45 assists. As a junior in 2023-2024, Eid was named New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Defender of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection, recording a +13 rating. She followed her breakout season with a second-team all-conference nod a +15 total as a senior in 2024-2025.
In each of her four years with the Sharks, Eid earned a spot on the NEWHA All-Academic Team. She completed her bachelor's degree in sport management with a 3.55 cumulative GPA.
A native of Belle River, Ontario, Canda, Eid helped lead LIU to conference regular season and tournament titles in 2023, clinching the program's first-ever berth in the NCAA tournament. Eid capped her career with a NEWHA regular season crown in 2025.
"I am forever grateful for my experience and opportunities at LIU," said Eid. "I loved being a Shark, it was an amazing four years. I would not be the person I am today without my amazing teammates, coaches, and mentors that were provided for me. I'm really excited for the opportunity to be able to play at the professional level, and I definitely wouldn't be able to do this if it wasn't for LIU."
