BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Long Island University men's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season on Wednesday, featuring five home games inside the Steinberg Wellness Center. Season ticket packages for all of LIU's home games are available for purchase here. 

"We have a challenging non-conference schedule that will test our guys early," said head coach Rod Strickland. "We are excited to play four Power 4 teams on the road and will host a number of highly competitive programs here in Brooklyn. We're looking forward to strong fan support from the community here at home!" 

LIU's non-conference schedule features home matchups with Roberts Wesleyan University (Nov. 8), James Madison University (Nov. 15), the University of Massachusetts Lowell (Nov. 29), Winthrop University (Dec. 2) and La Salle University (Dec. 13). 

Among LIU's scheduled road games are four matchups against Power 4 opponents, including the University of Notre Dame in the season opener on Nov. 3, the University of Illinois on Nov. 22, Mississippi State University on Dec. 16, and the University of Georgia on Dec. 29.  

Other road games include a local matchup with Fordham University (Nov. 20), and games against Indiana University Indianapolis (Nov. 6), the Air Force Academy (Nov. 11), Lehigh University (Dec. 6), and Florida International University (Dec. 20). 

The non-conference schedule also includes a neutral site meeting with Missouri State University (Nov. 24) in Champaign, Illinois as part of the 2025 Illinois Showcase. 

The Sharks enter the upcoming season off a 2024-2025 campaign in which they posted a 17-16 overall record and placed second in the Northeast Conference standings with a 12-4 mark. LIU's roster features three returning starters, including First-Team All-NEC selection Malachi Davis, Second-Team All-NEC selection Jamal Fuller and NEC All-Rookie Team selection Shadrak Lasu.
