Syracuse, N.Y. – Garett Yawn pitched his second consecutive complete game, propelling LIU to a 4-0 victory over Le Moyne in game one of Friday's double-header.
 
Yawn was spectacular, tossing nine innings in a four-hit shutout with twelve strikeouts. This was his sixth straight outing with seven innings or more, while reaching double-digit strikeouts for the fourth time in five starts. Yawn's twelve strikeouts were one off his season-high of thirteen.
 
Offensively, the Sharks did their damage in the fifth and the eighth, scoring two in each inning. Ryan Rivera drove in LIU's first run of the game with an RBI single, and Benjamin Fierenzi later stole home. Max Samson and Tyler Benick chipped in with a couple of RBI singles in the eighth.
 
LIU and Le Moyne will continue their double-header on Friday as part of a three-game series.
