Jacob Pipercic Goes Perfect 3-For-3 as LIU Drops One to Villanova

Pipercic tallied 3 hits in leadoff spot & Ryan Rivera hit RBI double despite loss

Villanova, Pa. — LIU dropped a close one on Sunday, losing 3-1 to Villanova.

Leadoff hitter Jacob Pipercic went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double for the Sharks. He also came around to score in the eighth inning, courtesy of a Ryan Rivera RBI single as LIU cut their deficit to two. That was as close as the Sharks would come.

Starting pitcher Justin DeCastro pitched six and a third innings for the Sharks, striking out four and allowing three runs.

LIU will return to action on Friday, April 4, hosting Mercyhurst at 3 p.m.
