BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Jacob Pipercic and
Mason Breton each hit a home run, while
Jack Power and
Joseph Durso drove in a pair of runs as the LIU baseball team extended its win streak to five games with a 14-5 win over Siena on Tuesday afternoon.
Pipercic's third-inning home run put LIU up 1-0. The Sharks added four more runs in the inning to extend their lead to 5-0.
Power and Durso hit back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning, and Durso eventually stole home as LIU opened up a 10-0 lead.
Breton's three-run blast in the ninth inning gave LIU a 14-5 lead. It was the freshman's first collegiate home run, and he finished the game with three RBIs.
Tyler Benick recorded two hits and drove in a run, while Durso led all Sharks with three hits.
Nicolas Benhardt struck out six batters over six innings of work, earning his third win of the season.
The Sharks have outscored their opponents 60-21 during their five-game win streak.
LIU travels to Monmouth tomorrow before beginning a three-game series at Villanova on Friday.
