BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Redshirt junior guard Malachi Davis of the Long Island University men's basketball team was named to the Northeast Conference All-Tournament Team on Tuesday, representing the LIU team that advanced into the tournament semifinals. 

Davis highlighted the quarterfinals of the tournament with a 35-point, seven-rebound and seven-assist performance against Chicago State University on March 5, leading the Sharks to a 68-57 win over the Cougars. His 35 points were two shy of the LIU record in the NEC tournament, set by Joe Davis in 1995, and five points shy of the NEC tournament record of 40, which was set in 2000. 

In the semifinals against Saint Francis University, Davis scored 16 points and had three steals against the Red Flash. 

In his first season with the Sharks after transferring from Arizona State, Davis was a First-Team All-NEC selection and averaged 17.7 points, 3.2 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game this winter.
