BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Junior guard Sirviva Legions represented the Long Island University women's basketball team on the 2024-25 Northeast Conference Women's Basketball Awards list, being named to the Second-Team All-NEC list this winter.

"Viva has been a very consistent player for us throughout the year," LIU women's basketball Head Coach Rene Haynes said. "She has worked on expanding her game, but her mid-range game has been extremely effective. Her confidence is seen through preparation. For example, she will be the first on the court on game days 4 hours before the tipoff. Viva is coachable, and her confidence is contagious. I know that she will continue to grow and evolve into the player she strives to be."

Legions was fifth in the conference in scoring this season, averaging 14.3 points per game over LIU's 29-game regular season; in conference games, her scoring average increased to 15.6 points per game. The Brooklyn native also averaged 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game during the regular season. From the field, Legions connected on 40.3% of shots, the eighth-highest mark in the NEC.

The Sharks travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University for the quarterfinals of the NEC Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday night. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
