BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Redshirt senior Malachi Davis of the Long Island University men's basketball team was named the NEC Player of the Week on Monday after helping guide the Sharks to a win over Lehigh University on Saturday. 

Davis finished the win with a game-high 30 points (12-23 FG), recording his first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds. The Scarborough, Canada native also has a season-high five steals in the win.  

His 30 points are the most he has scored this season, and the fourth-most in his LIU career. 

Davis finished last Tuesday's game against Winthrop with 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  

This is the second Player of the Week honor for Davis this winter, and fifth of his LIU career. 

Along with Davis, graduate student Jamal Fuller and senior Greg Gordon were both named NEC Prime Performers on Monday. Fuller averaged 20 points (12-19 FG, 5-8 3pt FG), 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, while Gordon averaged 20.5 points (18-31 FG), 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2 steals. 

LIU returns to the floor on Saturday, Dec. 13, at home against La Salle University at 4 p.m. in Brooklyn.
