East Meadow, N.Y. — The Long Island University women's hockey team (7-8-1, 5-8-1 NEWHA) defeated Post 5-3 Saturday night at Northwell Health Ice Center, marking their third straight victory.
Crosby Wildfong scored the game's first goal to give LIU a 1-0 lead at 10:31, and while Post tied things up shortly thereafter,
Drew Dyczkowski scored her first of two goals to cap off a busy first period and give the Sharks a 2-1 lead heading into the second.
Post would tie the game yet again, but a power play goal by
Paige Vreeman at the 16:00 mark of the period helped the Sharks get the lead back, 3-2.
LIU would never trail after that, with Dyczkowski (scoring her second goal) and
Ryane Kearns each scoring in the third to help their team put the finishing touches on an eventual 5-3 win.
The Sharks return to play on Friday, Dec. 12, visiting Robert Morris at 7 p.m.
