Box Score EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - The Long Island University women's ice hockey team (4-4-1, 2-4-1 NEWHA) downed Franklin Pierce University (4-7-0, 3-4-0 NEWHA), 2-0, on Friday afternoon at the Northwell Health Center in the first game of a weekend pair.

Drew Dyczkowski each scored in the win.
The Sharks and Ravens skated scoreless into the final minute of the second period, when
Marin Jugnauth took a wrist shot from the left point that Vreeman redirected into the net. LIU took a 1-0 lead into the third period.
In the final minute, the two sides skated four-on-four after Franklin Pierce's Melanie Targosz took a roughing penalty at 18:43, followed by a tripping penalty on LIU's
Victoria Petruska at 19:06. With Franklin Pierce goalie Jill Hertl pulled, and the Ravens skating five-on-four, Dyczkowski broke free to tack on the empty-netter sealing LIU's 2-0 win.

Clara Kammholz saved all 21 shots she faced, earning her second shutout win of the season. The Sharks outshot the Ravens 27-21 and won 34 of 60 faceoffs.
LIU and Franklin Pierce meet again on Saturday in the final game of the weekend pair. Puck drop at Northwell Health Ice Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
