BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Redshirt senior Malachi Davis of the Long Island University men's basketball team was named the NEC co-Player of the Week on Monday, after helping guide the Sharks to wins over the United States Air Force Academy and James Madison University.
Davis tied to lead the Sharks in scoring in both games, totaling 14 points against Air Force last Tuesday and 21 points against James Madison on Saturday. The Scarborough, Canada native also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists last week, shooting 58.3% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc. Davis also recorded four steals last week.
Fuller also tied for a team-high 14 points against Air Force and 21 points against the Dukes, averaging 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists last week. The graduate student guard/forward shot 52.2% from the field last week, including a 3-4 mark from three against JMU on Saturday. The Toronto native has finished each game he's played in with double-digit points.
This is the second consecutive week the Sharks have received an NEC Player of the Week honor, as senior Greg Gordon was named co-Player of the Week last Monday.
LIU travels to Fordham University on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
