BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — After leading LIU to a 1-0-1 record, both Niklas Thanhofer and Andrew Marotta have earned weekly honors from the NEC.
 
Thanhofer wins his second Player of the Week award after first winning the honor on Sept. 22. This time around, the senior earns recognition after scoring two goals in two games for the Sharks. His first goal served as the game-winner as LIU defeated Le Moyne 2-1 on Oct. 9, and his second goal of the week helped his team earn a 1-1 tie with FDU on Oct. 12.
 
As for Marotta, the honors keep on coming as he earns his third Rookie of the Week award (following previous wins on Sept. 8 and Sept. 29). He recorded nine saves in goal through two games while helping LIU achieve an undefeated week.
 
Thanhofer and Marotta will lead the Sharks back into battle on Sunday, Oct. 19 when they visit CCSU at 3 p.m.
