Abbie Thompson earned her second consecutive NEWHA Goaltender of the Week Award after leading the LIU women's hockey team to a two-game split against Sacred Heart, highlighted by a 1-0 shutout win over the Pioneers on Sunday afternoon.
Thompson (12-8), a graduate student, collected her third NEWHA Goaltender of the Week honor this season after recording an impressive 1.03 GAA and a .979 save percentage during the weekend series for the Sharks.
The Forest Lake, Minn., native made 22 saves in Friday's series opener before securing a 24-save shutout in Sunday's win to help LIU split the series with Sacred Heart.
The Sharks return to action on Friday and Saturday with a two-game series at Saint Michael's.
