Ashley Morrow Scores Twice, Women's Hockey Beats Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Ashley Morrow's multigoal performance lifted LIU past Sacred Heart, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, Conn.

Morrow scored twice on the power play in the second period to give LIU a 2-0 lead heading into the final frame. Grace Babington assisted on both goals, while Anna Fairman and Emma Mörtl each contributed helpers on Morrow's tallies.

Bri Eid scored an empty-net goal in the final 2:05 of regulation, marking the Sharks' 13th win of the season.

Goaltender Abbie Thompson made 24 saves to earn her 12th win of the season as the Sharks improved to 13-5-2 in NEWHA play.

Babington recorded a team-high six shots, and LIU blocked 13 shots on the afternoon.

LIU will next face St. Michael's on Friday and Saturday.
