EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team returns to the Northwell Health Ice Center for a weekend doubleheader against Assumption and Saint Anselm on Friday and Saturday nights to kick off the New Year.

LIU returns to action after defeating Holy Cross 3-1 on Dec. 31, improving to 5-0 at home. The Sharks will play their third game in six days, facing Assumption on Friday at 2 p.m.

"We look forward to another two games back on home ice and working to start the new year the right way," head coach Brett Riely said.

Carter Rapalje leads all Sharks in goals (8), assists (8), and points (16). The sophomore has tallied four powerplay goals and two shorthanded goals, one of which was the game-tying goal in the first period against Holy Cross in the Sharks' 10th win of the season.
