BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Fresh off winning this week's NEC Player of the Week honor,
Malachi Davis will lead LIU into battle against Saint Francis this Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m.
The Sharks are currently undefeated in conference play, boasting its best start since the 2011-12 season at 4-0. Over that span, Davis is averaging 18.8 points on 51% shooting and 2.5 steals. This streak has included a 24 point effort in the 78-62 win over Le Moyne at the Barclays Center on Jan. 3, and his 27 points in the 70-60 road win against Stonehill on Jan. 10 represented Davis' second-highest scoring effort of the campaign.
Jamal Fuller has also been among those making big impacts for LIU amid its hot start against NEC opponents. He's averaged 14.3 points on 54% from the field to go with 6.3 rebounds.
Terell Strickland led the Sharks with 12 points in its most recent win, a 54-52 victory over CCSU on Jan. 12, and has averaged 9.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during this streak. Freshman
Shadrak Lasu has also provided an especially strong presence on the glass as of late, grabbing 7.3 rebounds over his last four games.
As the team looks to continue its winning ways all around, it's worth noting that the Sharks won the last matchup with Saint Francis, a 70-67 victory on Feb. 3, 2024.
